星期六的课

I didn't have a plan for this lesson at all, partly due to not knowing who was going to be turning up, partly due to not having time to prepare that morning.
I put it to the class who did arrive, "what do you want to work on" the most suitable suggestion was flexibility. So flexibility it was.
We did an exercise holding sticks that is normally done with cups of water or something else that spills. You hold the vessel on you hand with you palm open and then turn you hand in toward your body then around so your hand is twisted 360 degrees, then keep it going around taking it over you head and back to where you started.
We did this exercise in many different ways, making the figure 8 that you make as big as possible without moving your feet, making it as long as possible, front to back as well as side to side, as high and low as possible and as small as possible. Each one of the variations made the exercise slightly different and each person in the class found one variation that worked on a particular weakness of theirs. We followed these exercises with some applications to the flexibility gained giving escape advantages. Various wrist, elbow and shoulder locks that were escapable through greater range of movement.

Is Kung Fu easy to learn?

It really depends why you want to learn. Usually if you are sure then it is easy, provided you can talk with your teacher or insturctor and they know why you want to learn.
If you are unsure of what you want or are not able to approach your insturctor to discuss your goals, then the it becomes more difficult, as you do not feel like you are getting the answers you are seeking.

A good teacher will also help, if their teaching style suits you, then you learn easier. The better the teacher the better they are able to teach you in a way that makes sence to you.

This is all reliant on good material also, but that is very hard to understand from a student until you understand what you are learning.
